Description

The YDOC is a logging and telemetry device with Analogue, Digital and Serial Inputs for environmental data logging. Basic single sensor applications or complex bespoke applications, the YDOC can solve most environmental monitoring and IOT challenges.

Model No: YD-ML-417ADS / YD-ML-A417ADS

Ultra-Low-Power 3G/4G/CAT-M1 Telemetry device with analogue, digital and serial inputs for environmental data logging. Whether for a basic single sensor application or complex bespoke applications, the YDOC can solve most environmental monitoring challenges.

With it’s modern LTE Cat-M1 narrowband IoT connectivity and innovative power lid options the YDOC is a modern solution enabling more monitoring in more places.

Users are shifting from local download operations to data transmitting devices allowing real-time monitoring and data dashboard and alarming all configured in a webserver. The YDOC offers the best of both worlds with local and cloud-data access.   And the coverage has never been greater with Cat-M1 narrowband IoT coverage enabling the YDOC to go into places where other loggers can’t.

Transmitting devices can consume significant amounts of power. Not the YDOC. It is suitable for low data applications running from solar or battery or can handle larger data volume applications and can be powered by mains.

Power lid options

  • Single, double or triple D cell lithium batteries

  • Optional DC power input, with optional rechargeable 3x AA NiMH batteries or on-board solar regulator for SLA battery charging

  • 1W solar integrated lid with 3x NiMH AA batteries

The YDOC does it all and can work in the field for extended periods consuming little power. The innovative YDOC batter cover options make powering the logger and sensors simple and low cost.

Optional add on boards are available to expand serial inputs.

Benefits

  • Rugged and waterproof IP67 enclosure (130x120x75mm) means easy light installation and reliability in harsh environments.

  • The YDOC Pole mount kit accessory available to easily fit a pole (40x60mm diameter poles)

  • With IoT CatM1 coverage more and more users are adding the YDOC as their telemetry solution for existing local logging applications utilising the serial port to read third party systems.

The solar-powered 3/4G logger offers exceptional costs savings because you don’t need:

  • Solar panels,

  • Big batteries,

  • Cellular modem, and

  • Encapsulating cabinet

Applications

Industrial, water quality, water level, weather, oil and gas, camera operations, environmental, soil, wind monitors, dust monitoring, alarms, custom projects, third party loggers needing telemetry, metering, leak monitoring, GPS applications, marine, infrastructure, logistical monitoring, vehicle and vessel tracking and monitoring, camera applications, among others.

Features:

Inputs

The data logger can acquire physical signals by 2 current loop inputs, 2 voltage inputs, 1 resistance input and 3 digital inputs.

The YDOC comes with one serial port to capture measurements from pulse, ASCII, MODBUS/RTU, NMEA or SDI-12 compatible sensors via RS-232, RS-485 or SDI-12 connections. Optional add on boards are available to expand serial inputs.

Powering sensors

External sensors can be powered by the data logger and do not consume power whilst the data logger is in sleep mode.

Power options

The logger can be powered by

  • An internal 3.6 Volt Lithium battery (or 2 or 3) that will last for years in low-power mode

  • Optional integrated 3 x AA NiMH batteries with 1W Solar PV-panel

  • 8..30V external DC source.

  • SLA regulator on board for taking solar and regulating charge to external SLA battery

The YDOC comes with Internal sensors (e.g. battery, processor temperature, signal strength).

Data transmission

Logged data can be pushed to a central host by HTTP(S), FTP(S), e-mail, secure TCP or MQTT(S) at configurable intervals.
