K Series - Spread Spectrum Data Radio
Setting the standard for professional, high speed serial data communications in the license-free 900MHz ISM and 2.4GHz band, the advanced frequency hopping K Series is designed for the most demanding requirements of Water, Power, Oil & Gas, and many other critical SCADA and Telemetry applications.
Maximum range is achieved with the combination of a powerful 1W (900MHz) output transmitter, high sensitivity receiver, and interference tolerant frequency hopping technology.
The highly versatile K Series data radio can be configured as a master, remote, bridge or repeater, and there are no limits to the number of repeaters in Point-to-Multipoint and Point-to-Point systems.
With its compact and rugged alloy housing and -40ºC to +70ºC operational capability, the industrial grade K Series is designed for the harshest environments.
The new K Series introduces a number of features including TRIO Datacom™s LinkXtend™ network bridging with dual antenna ports, allowing systems to be implemented with virtually unlimited coverage at minimal cost so that the users of license-free wireless communications are no longer constrained by previously limited operating ranges.
Another new feature is KwikStream™ which is used in Point to Multipoint (PTMP) repeater systems needing high data throughput with the lowest possible latency.
K Series radios are compatible with all leading industry standard protocols such as MODBUS, DNP-3, IEC870-5-101, DF1, etc. and feature both RS-232 and RS-485 user interfaces, as well as a 10Vdc to 30Vdc power supply for maximum flexibility. A separate system port eliminates the need to interrupt user data connections for always on-line configuration and diagnostics access.
