Automatic Calibrating Alcolizer The Alcolizer is the only public breathalyser in Australia to attain Australian Standard AS 3547 Certification (1988/1993), it is manufactured under the Quality Assurance Services Licence No. 144, measures in increments of .001% and is accurate to +/-0.005% blood alcohol concentration (%BAC). Advantages of the Alcolizer The Alcolizer displays a quick and exact digital reading of blood alcohol concentration (to three digits) and also screens a scrolling message after each BAC reading, (a feature unique to the Alcolizer). A selection of messages have been programmed into the software of the breathalyser, each test activates a message which provides additional information relevant to the BAC reading registered. This information is scrolled across the viewing window immediately after the display of the %BAC reading. Cell Calibration The Alcolizer uses the identical Lion alcohol-specific fuel cell for measuring the blood alcohol concentration as is used by over 120 police forces throughout the world including Australia. This method of analysis provides the highest level of accuracy and reliability developed to date. The Alcolizer is equipped with a microprocessor that performs an automatic measurement and calibration every 24 hours to compensate for any variation in fuel cell characteristics. If the internal software detects that the calibration of the cell has drifted outside set parameters the machine renders itself inoperable and displays a message to indicate that a hardware calibration is required. Printer Facility The Alcolizer can also be equipped with a numeric key-pad and standard 80-column printer, operated via a serial interface. This allows the Alcolizer to record and print information such as employee number, time, date and blood alcohol concentration. |
